The Airline Newport DLX is our love letter to the rare National Newport Val-Pro 88 from the late 50’s and early 60’s. Icons of the studio and stage have recognized the draw of the vintage National guitars’ Valco designs, from The Cure’s Robert Smith to The Black Keys’ Dan Aurbach. Our Newport DLX boasts two ‘Vintage Voiced Double Coil’ humbuckers as well as a piezo bridge pickup and a 5-way pickup selector switch. Each pickup has individual volume and tone-control knobs located above allowing for endless tonal combinations and experimentation.
